Born in the Sierra foothills east of Sacramento, I was very fortunate to be introduced to the High Sierra at an early age. My family spent winters skiing the mountains and summers hiking them. This early and sustained exposure - to this day- leaves me with a greater sense of place being out-of-doors than in.
A culmination of life experiences brought me to the Eastside of the Sierra. I live in Mammoth Lakes with my endearing wife Tracie, our daughter Bella, and our faithful border collie.
I have been a fly fishing guide since 2001. In 2002, I attended the Guide School at Clearwater House in northern California and promptly began working & guiding for the Trout Fly & Troutfitter fly shop in Mammoth Lakes.
Since 2005, I have been operating my own independent guide service, Reel Mammoth Adventures, while also working with a local "guide group" of other top independent guides in our region.
I am licensed, bonded, insured, and carry forest service permits for all the waters in the Mammoth Lakes area. CA DFG Lic. #3765
Guiding is my job; I view my role as your guide: To provide quality service, competent instruction and I will try my best too exceed your expectations.
A quality guide will find situations to challenge the most experienced anglers, while facilitating the confidence in the beginner by teaching a solid foundation of the basics.
Allow me to share my passion with you…Let’s go fishin’.
